## Versioning and deprecation

The public WordPress content routes use `/wp-json/wp/v2/`; WooCommerce Store routes use `/wp-json/wc/store/v1/`. The OpenAPI document version describes this site's published contract, not the version of every upstream plugin. Site-owned `/api/` discovery metadata may gain compatible fields. Site-owned breaking contract changes require a new major version, a migration note in this guide and an updated OpenAPI description. Clients must tolerate additional fields and inspect the published route schema after software upgrades.

No public read operation is currently scheduled for removal. When a site-owned operation is deprecated, this guide will identify its replacement and announce the effective removal date before removal; affected responses will use a standards-based `Deprecation` header and a `Sunset` header only when a removal date is set. Upstream WordPress and WooCommerce changes follow their maintainers' policies; this site does not promise a vendor-controlled notice period. ## Read pages as Markdown

Request a public page with `Accept: text/markdown`. HTML is the default. Negotiated responses declare `Vary: Accept`, and Markdown responses use `Content-Type: text/markdown; charset=utf-8`. Hosting or security rules may reject a request earlier with HTTP 403 and an HTML body; check Content-Type before parsing, and do not repeatedly retry a denied request. Check the status before consuming content. On 429, honour Retry-After when present; otherwise back off. Retry temporary 5xx failures with backoff, and avoid repeatedly requesting missing URLs. Cache public content and keep request volume modest. No dedicated public API quota or uptime commitment is published.
